Impressions around "Hotel Kristall"

Obertauern is well known for its ‘Tauernrunde’ and for its ‘Hüttenrunde’. There are many different Après Ski bars and ski lodges to choose from. After your Après Ski experience you can ski right up to the front door of Hotel Kristall.

As a guest of the ‘Kristall’, you carry your skis on your feet and not on your shoulders! Strap into your bindings right at our doorstep and begin. The practice lift (Pernerlift Nr. 17) is only a few slopes away. It will take you to the famous ‘Tauernrunde’ and the central lift.

The exciting return trip follows along the sports centre in the middle of the snow bowl of Obertauern.

Obertauern is very well known for its snow safety!

Around 110 years ago the first skiers came to Obertauern. At that time there were a few places to stay and emergency shelters. At the end of the 40s and the start of the 50s, skiing was then the predominant theme. Skiing boomed. And Obertauern was right in the middle of this boom.

From Franz Beckenbauer to Luggi Müller many celebrities already stayed with us at Hotel Kristall.

The association ‘Schneeforscher Obertauern e. V.’ was founded at the Hotel Kristall 30 years ago. Its members Uwe Seeler, Erich Ribbeck, Max Lorenz & Co. came together once a year at Hotel Kristall for a week of skiing.
